Another showing of some of my work at the Whaletail café in Lancaster. Lots of new stuff including this one. Its a further working of the Morecambe Bay sands picture this time cut on some Japanese handmade paper that I dyed and then cut. I decided to leave it partially cut as I thought it added something.
This is a papercut for an Art Trail, organised by the Exchange in Morecambe and will hopefully be in the window at Crazy Cats on Regent street in Morecambe. It is a continuation of a picture that ended up being an album cover for Combineharvester.
The papercut will be framed between 2 sheets of acrylic (when i can get them to hold and not crack) so that it can be seen through. This picture shows it with the sky behind it. I may even make it luminous so that it will glow in the dark, ooooohhhh.
Here is the picture in Crazy Cats. Never got round to making it luminous.
Over this spring and summer I shall be showing and selling my work in a few different places.
I shall have a couple of pieces of work in the “Journeys” exhibition hosted by Morecambe Artist Colony http://www.morecambeartistcolony.org/ during May and June which will be at either the Hothouse or Stone Jetty Cafe in Morecambe.
On Saturday 28th May I am doing a papercut workshop. It is part of The Exchange theexchangecic.co.uk who are having a space in Marketgate Lancaster as part of Lancaster Comedy and Arts festival. It costs £10 (going to The Exchange) and runs from 1.30-3.30. I will provide everything, all you need is some ideas, patience and steady hand. (sorry not suitable for kids cos of the scalpels but i will provide scissors and paper to cut paper snowflakes and other stuff).
